CIO-ERB24 $199
24 Electro-Mechanical Relay Board

 CIO-ERB24 24 Electro-Mechanical Relay Board

The CIO-ERB24 mounts 24 form C electro-mechanical relays on a 19" x 4.5" circuit board. Dual connector schemes allow interfacing to digital I/O boards with 37-pin D connectors, and digital I/O boards with 50-pin header connectors.

Providing positions for 24 relays, the CIO-ERB24 has screw terminals for each module. The screw terminals allow the user to connect signals via 12-22 AWG wire. The signals are routed through the relays to the 37-pin D connector and 50-pin header. Your digital I/O board plugs into the CIO-ERB24 via a standard 37 conductor cable such as the C37FF-2 or 50 conductor C50FF-2 cable. The CIO-ERB24 comes with relays rated 3 A at 120 Vac or 28 Vdc.

Interface to Digital I/O Boards
The CIO-ERB24 will connect to either the CIO-DIO24 with a 37-pin connector or the CIO-DIO48, CIO-DIO96 or CIO-DIO192 with 50-pin headers. The CIO-ERB24 is designed for use in both simple systems, with only a single 24-bit digital I/O board, and large systems, with high density digital I/O boards, such as the 192 channel CIO-DIO192. Since each 50-pin connector carries 48 digital I/O lines, a scheme for chaining two CIO- ERB24 boards to a single 50-pin header from a CIO-DIO48, CIO-DIO96 or CIO-DIO192 is implemented on the board. The second 24 digital I/O signals are wired to a connector labeled "OUT," which swaps the position of the signals so they are in line for the next CIO-ERB24.

Input wiring
The CIO-ERB24 has screw terminals for connecting field wiring to the relays. Each relay has three onnections; common, normally open and normally closed. The screw terminals are high quality jaw type so they will not bind when removing wires. Wire of 12 to 22 AWG may be used.

Buffers and pull downs
The CIO-ERB24 inputs, from the digital I/O board, are pulled to a steady state by the circuitry on the board, so they will not randomly open or close on power-up. Also buffer/drivers on-board accept signals from simple 8255 type digital I/O boards.
